Don't give up that easily.
Give it another try, but this time, by 'spreading' the collab and all it's information (rules, deadlines, etc...) on the BBS. I'm not going to promise anything, but I'm quite sure that, at least through that way, a bigger 'quantity' of people will (probably) see it and will also (possibly) be interested into joining it.

Your text is basically "I do stuff, let's do any stuff together." Include examples of your work that you are really proud of. Write what sort of projects and genres you are interested in. Offer PM & get rid of your email. You're just inviting spam bots, and sharing their email with a stranger is scary for others.
And then wait until the 1st week of January has passed. There are like a million other things going on for people right now - 'you included', probably. ;)
